Materials:
To make this votive candle holder I used a plastic container, a smaller cup (that fits inside the container), tape, water, coins(as weights), and materials from outside as decorations.
How I made it:
To start, I put water in the plastic container, filling about half of the container. I then cut four pieces of tape and put it on the inside of the smaller cup. I put weights in the cup to hold it down so it wouldn't float in the water, then taped the cup inside the container to make the votive candle shape. I then went outside to find decorations, then put them on the sides of the container.
Then I put this in the freezer, and it took a long time for it to fully freeze. I had to keep it in there overnight. To take the ice out of the plastic container, I poured hot water on the outside of the container.
I went outside and put a candle inside it, and it worked! Though this would have been better if I had a tealight candle, but I didn't, so the candle kind of sticks out of the holder.
How My Creation Meets the Criteria:
- it holds a small candle safely
- it is shaped like a cup
- it is made out of ice
- it has decorative features frozen into the shell
