Winter Shelter
To build my winter shelter, I first went outside into the woods near my house and searched for a good space to set up my fort. I was looking all over the place for some trees to use as natural support for my shelter. I decided that 2 birch trees close together would be a good place to set up. I immediately searched for large branches and fallen trees to use as the structure of my fort. I used these branches by placing one end in the ground and the other against the tree. I layered as many branches as I could find, leaving an area for 2 people to sit inside and also a door. After completing the"shell" of the fort, I searched for a tarp to use as the outer layer of protection from the elements. I could not find one but found sheets instead. These would not be helpful for real survival but imagine it is a tarp. I tucked the edges of the sheet between the branches and the tree to close off air coming in to keep the inhabitats somewhat warm.
