Snow Cave

 Snow Cave

For my snow day project, I decided to build an igloo/snow cave. At about 1pm on Thursday I used the snowblower on my driveway. I used that to my advantage for the project by making a large pile of snow with ease. I then smoothed over the pile with the back of a shovel and poured water all over the pile so that it would freeze the outer layer. I then left that overnight to freeze. More snow was piled on Friday morning because I had to snowblow again. I then dug into the mound with a gardening tool creating a 6-foot deep cave big enough for someone to lay in with generous room around them.

It could be used for to get out of a blizzard and find cover from the harsh winds. Someone could rest in there. It is also quite soundproof, so one could even try to sleep in there. The ice layer will prevent the cave from crashing in.
