PowerWindow

What it is
A tech startup called Physee had a mission to make "modern commercial and housing estates energy neutral". They recently fitted the headquarters of a Dutch bank with the world's first commercial, fully transparent solar-power-generating windows. The windows could generate 8 to 10 watts of power. This means that the user could charge a phone per every square meter two times a day. The windows are equipped with USB ports as well. The company named them PowerWindows.
How it Works
The windows have solar cells installed in the edges at a specific angle that allows the incoming solar light to be efficiently transformed into electricity.
Usage
In Europe, governmental regulations have stated that every commercial and governmental building construction or renovation has to be energy neutral by 2020. This paves the way for Physee, who also have many other innovative products such as the SmartWindow.
My Thoughts
I believe that what Physee is doing for the environment is amazing. The company is creating technology that has a double function as a solar panel and a window. Large companies that use a lot of electricity should use these windows and help cut down electricity usage. Overall, a great and innovative product.
