The Future of Automobiles

Image result for Kevin CzingerThe Ceo of the company Divergent 3D, had a dream of recreating his favorite childhood cars and making them into the future using 3D. CEO Kevin Czinger created the first 3D printed, working prototype of what he believes to be the future. He designed this 3D supercar called "The Blade" with several people with backgrounds in aircraft, computational design, and Mitsubishi. The car is extraordinary and displays the future of the car making world. Not only is this 3D printed car attractive, it is very functional and practical too. The intelligent design stems from nature and technology from aircrafts. Several parts in the prototype were designed to mock the optimization of energy and absorbing that organic things naturally adapt too. For example, if you look by the front suspension of the car you can see that the arm has an organic and natural look to it                                                                                because it was made to mock the                                                                                          extraordinary architecture of nature.

The body and sculpture of the car is all 3D printed metal except one of the supports that runs down the side of the car is a common part found in planes. Which is just a carbon fiber tube. They also use vacuums and a patented paste to seal the parts together for extra strength. This technique is not used a lot due to the very few parts the car actually has. The frame                                                                             of the car is comprised of five pieces.                                                                                     Then the body is just laid on top. Which                                                                                 allows for more exotic and complex                                                                                       designs for the body of the car.
